The questions we get asked most.
How often does a pond actually need cleaning?+
A healthy, well-filtered pond rarely needs a full drain-down. Often only every few years, and some never. What it does need is regular smaller attention: filters serviced, silt kept down, UV lamps changed. That is far cheaper than the big clean you end up needing when nobody does it.
Will you have to empty the pond and move the fish?+
Usually not. Full drain-downs stress fish and strip the biology that keeps the water clear. We only do it when the silt load or a liner repair genuinely requires it, and when we do, the fish are held in oxygenated pond water and put back the same day.
My water is green. Is that dangerous for the fish?+
Green water on its own is rarely dangerous, but it is a symptom worth reading. Blanketweed can trap fish and crash oxygen overnight. We test rather than guess, then fix the cause instead of dosing it forever.
How much does a new pond cost?+
It depends entirely on size, filtration and stonework, and anyone quoting before seeing the garden is guessing. We come out, talk through what you want, and put a real figure in writing.
